TOUR DESCRIPTION
From the city of Rhodes, we’ll journey to an enchanting park on the island’s western coast — the Valley of the Butterflies. As we stroll along its peaceful paths, we’ll observe thousands of delicate butterflies that migrate here solely to mate, drawn by the valley’s ideal habitat. It is the females who tend to the eggs, ensuring the species’ survival on the island.
Lush greenery, serene lakes, a gentle waterfall, and a rustic wooden staircase guide us from the lower part of the valley, where our walk begins, to the upper section, where butterflies gather in greater numbers, awaiting the cooler evening air to begin their mating ritual.
Following our visit, we’ll return to Rhodes Old Town. Our coach will drop us near the historic D’Amboise Gate — once a key entry point connecting the city with villages along the western coast. From there, we’ll explore the marvels of the medieval city on foot, walking the famed Street of the Knights and passing towers, garrisons, and grand stone buildings constructed by the Knights of the Order of Saint John in the 15th century.
To end the day, enjoy some free time to browse the local bazaars and shops at your own pace.
